Cooperative Summer Intern Program Student Checklist

To complete the Cooperative Summer Intern Program use this checklist as a guide:

  • Register with Career and Employment Services in Holtz Hall no later than May 9, 2005.

  •  
  • Locate a cooperative willing to hire you as a summer employee and sponsor you as a intern or notify the Arthur Capper Cooperative Center you are interested in a internship with an co-op. 

    OR 

    Submit a resume, a brief letter of application or a list of the geographic and type of co-op business (farm credit, grain marketing, farm supply, rural electric, credit union, etc.) preferences  you have to Seleise Barrett in 303 Waters no later than Wednesday,  February 23, 2005.

  •  
  • If you are selected for an internship pick up the CES Experimental Learning Program student packet from Cherie Hodgson in Waters 345 or attend the Department of Agricultural Economics Internship Meeting February 15, 2005. Also, register with Seleise Barrett with the name of the cooperative and your summer contact information by May 5, 2005.

  •  
  • Turn in CES Job Description/Faculty Approval form by May 9, 2005.

  • You are encouraged to enroll in an Internship Class for Fall Semester (AGEC 445) and give an oral presentation on your internship experience. You may take the class for credit or no-credit. You should attend the initial meeting of the class in August and at that time will be assigned your presentation date which will occur sometime during the semester but prior to the November 11, 2005 deadline.

  •  
  • Complete the following forms required by the Experimental Learning Program.  Click here for the complete list of deadlines from CES for the 2005-2006 academic year. These are also available in the Experimental Learning Program student packet:

                Learning Objectives Agreement by June 20, 2005

                Interim Report by July 11, 2005

                Student Performance Review by August 22, 2005

                Employer Performance Review by August 22, 2005

                Final Summary Report due to CES by August 22, 2005

  • You are encouraged to complete a special project and make a presentation (written and oral) to the co-op prior to the your departure in August if possible, but no later than September 9, 2005.

  •  
  • Your written special project report (*this report is based on the special project conducted during the summer) must be submitted to ACCC no later than November 11, 2005
